Mission

The WSYFF (West Seattle Youth Film Festival) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization that provides a local, low barrier, way for young people to experience the joy and excitement of bringing to life their film project and having a platform to present it in their community.

Organizers

Ella Mollicone, Co-founder and Executive Director

Ella co-founded WSYFF to support her 5th grade sister’s film making pursuits. She wanted to provide a platform for young people to show off their film projects to human audiences in real-life and be physically present to witness how their creative works impact the audience. Ella has lived in West Seattle since Kindergarten and is currently a senior at Holy Names Academy. Ella aspires to be an entrepreneur and is planning to study business or engineering or both.

Linnea Holmquist, Co-founder and Production Coordinator

Linnea started WSYFF to help young people use tech to boost their creativity. She saw that digital tools could be more than just time-wasters and wanted to show kids how to use them to make cool stuff and turn their ideas into reality. Linnea has lived in West Seattle for 12 years and is currently a junior at Seattle Prep where she is a photo/videographer for the digital newspaper. Linnea would like to study computer science and wants start her own business.

Nora Hogan, Selection Committee

Nora joined the WSYFF because she wants to help provide an opportunity for kids to have an audience for what they create that isn’t just their parents. Nora was born and raised in West Seattle and is currently a senior at West Seattle High School. She plays soccer at Pacific Northwest Soccer Club. Nora plans to study food science and aspires to create her own company.

Bree O’Connor, Selection Committee

Bree is a senior at West Seattle High School and a captain of the schools cross country team. Outside of school she loves to ski, hike, paint, and watch movies with friends! She joined the committee support creativity in the next generation of leaders!

Ruby Holliday, Selection Committee

Ruby is a junior at Notre Dame Catholic High School and is thrilled to support the WSYFF because of her passion for music and theatre. She loves exploring new stories and performances and believes the arts have the power to inspire and connect people. When she’s not in school, you can find her enjoying the outdoors, getting lost in a good book, or hanging out with her friends.
